Emily was recently (and abruptly) diagnosed with Acute B cell Lymphoblastic (ALL) Leukemia in January of 2024. Emily is a 29-year-old Trauma ICU nurse at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, which is where her passion and skills truly shine-- taking care of others.
She is a Savannah native and has been an active member of the Irish Catholic Community and Church her whole life. St. Patrick's Day and all of its Festivities are some of her favorite days of the year! She went to St. James Catholic School for parochial school and St. Vincent's Academy for High School. She proudly received her Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!!) and then went on to receive her Master’s in Nursing from Augusta University.
Emily has already been through an arduous 46 days in the hospital with multiple rounds of chemotherapy and transfusions. She is still in the early stages of her diagnosis and is going to see a Leukemia specialist in Augusta this week to receive further treatment plans and options.
Emily is one of the kindest, sweetest, funniest, and most positive people you will ever meet! When she was first diagnosed and asked how she could be helped, all she wanted was for the nurses taking care of her to be fed and taken care of, which is a true testament to who she is at her core. So now it is time to take care of her!!
Tubby's in Thunderbolt is graciously hosting "Rockin for Remission: Emily's Encore" in Emily's honor on Saturday, April 20th from 12 pm to 6 pm. We will have FIVE local bands, a silent auction, food, drinks, raffles, local vendor stands, merchandise, and MORE! Our goal is to raise as much money as possible so that finances are not a hurdle during Emily's treatment, and her main focus can be ROCKIN' her way to REMISSION!
So invite your friends, grab a drink, come listen to some great bands, find some goodies at the silent auction & vendors, and let's ROCK!!!! We look forward to celebrating our girl with ya'll!!
